New to the forum and new 914 owner, i have a 1976 2.0 914, I’m looking at changing my wheels out . I like the empi BRM wheels but I don’t know if they will fit. I get the 4x130; I looked at my manual and it has the stock wheels listed as [indent]5 1/2 J 15.
The empi rims have a choice of 41/2 or 51/2 I don’t want to assume to get the 51/2... any advise

Product Description
EMPI's 15x5.5" Aluminum Riviera Wheel has a 4x130 VW Lug pattern and includes a Chrome Center Cap with EMPI Logo and Chrome capped Valve Stem. VW used the 4x130 lug pattern on 1968 through 1977 Standard Beetles, 1971 through 1979 Super Beetles, 1967 through 1974 Karmann Ghias and 1966 through 1973 Type 3s. The wheel has a polished aluminum edge and raised spokes which are highlighted by the gloss black face of the wheel. The offset or ET of the aluminum wheel is 17mm, the back spacing is 3 7/8" and the 4x130 drilled pattern requires 60 degree conical lug nuts or lug bolts. The wheel is manufactured by EMPI with state of the art high quality machining

IIRC, the 4 lug 'gasburner' knockoffs, Cip1, have backspacing closer to stock fuch wheels. They look pretty sharp too.

And how do I tell if my EMPIs are legit?
