Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable shop in the SoCal area that can do some restoration work on my 74 914? I need some minor bodywork/rust repair and full repaint, along with mechanical work. Anyone?

My preference would be TLG Auto (Marco Gerace) for mechanical and John Esposito for body/paint, at the same location in N. Hollywood but separate businesses.
I recognize this is not very close to you and would be high-end on craftsmanship and costs. Both are phenomenal and have worked on many recognizable/famous Porsches as well as countless regular 'drivers'.
