Full Version: WTB - Other than 911 calipers for 3” struts?

Any ideas about using MB Brembo calipers with an adapter on either 3” or 3-1/2” spacing 911 struts?

Seems as though the rotor size is very close in size.

911 vented 282mm x 20mm thick
03+ c class vented 288mm x 23mm thick

They are really plentiful and cheap on eBay. Looks like they could be easily split and the Center machined down a couple mm to work better with the 911 rotor thickness.

Thinking about buying a set and seeing what is involved in making an adapter.

Or Alfa Brembo calipers work. PMB has them new now also.

Late 911 rotors(84-89) are thicker, I think they are 23mm.

And the Aluminum Alpha Brembo Caliper are bolt on for the 3 inch 911 struts.

But to the OP's question, the "Alpha" brakes don't sell for 88 bucks...

I have BMW 321i front calipers bolted directly - no adapter- to my later model 914 Boge struts. Many others also use this upgrade - not expensive - look on line, Ebay Amazon etc. I also have a 19 mm brake master cylinder - combination is highly satisfactory.

I bought my alpha cores for cheap, $80 on ebay, then a couple years ago I scored 2 more sets for $80/lot on kijiji (like CL) but i think those days are long gone thanks to those damn 914 guys. wink.gif
