I read in a thread awhile back about fixing the surface cracking on the factory knobs. I have one I would like to fix, Any info would help.

Uh, for clarification, are you referring to the centers on the dashboard knobs? The transluscent centers I mean. I just occurred to me that the crap they sell on TV to get rid of hairline scratches on glasses might work.

Just a thought, no experience with it, though.

sorry, I should have been more clear, the surface cracking on the shift knobs.

All you need is a buffing wheel, sometimes going over it with some 600 first if the cracks are real bad, then finish it off with some tripoli rouge and the buffing wheel.

Good suggestion. I will try something similar. I like the original shift knob and they do get pretty dull looking with age.
