I've signed up for a couple bbs's in the last several weeks.
Ours really kicks ass, I gotta say when the admin and design group started laying this out they did it right. My 2 big disappointments are related to customer/user service:
Grand-Am.com has forums for fans, well I signed up over 3 weeks ago and my account has yet to be activated. They say they will send me an email notifying me when it is. If you mess up when registering (I tried to register again) it locks out the name you were using and the email, saying they are already in use. whatta POS!!!
DayofDefeat.net their forums are nice looking - same engine as ours, I believe. They've spent some time making it look really nice, but, once again, no email-waiting to confirm my membership so I can post....and the Moderator's attitudes is incredible. From what I've read their shit don't stink, and no one can know as much as them- WOW! If I didn't have a weird buggy thing, then I wouldn't participate there.
There were a couple of Range Rover/Land Rover BBS's that I needed something quick. Nobody populates those and they go days, weeks, even months without a post. They also look like the old dial-in BBS's we used before the internet- WOW, c'mon guys.
ANYWAY, once again, thanks to all that spent many, many hours putting this all together and to the rest of you who make this place a "community". I can't say it enough, but that's really what this place is, and I think that is something awesome!
CHEERS, beers are on me!

go to stf, 914 forum. some poor soul waited nearly a month for a reply for help. there seems to be a couple of "guest's" who squeek in with their 2 bits worth. i think they are bored when things are quiet here. my progression was, stf, pp, then there seemed to be a mass migration. alien abductions? they all went to the place where i can do this

Here is another forum/BBS story...
The Corvette Forum use to have a BBS under thier "Other" catagory called "Babes". Well they have so much trouble with those a-holes posting homemade or down loaded porn they had to cancel it.
It was sort "Off topic" when some guy would post his old lady laying on the hood of his '78 Indy Pace car with her silicone hanging out.
Not that I ever went over there to check it out or anything.

Been hangin out on the early Chevy truck board of late. Great for parts scroungin, but for tech Q's? Sometimes you get some good answers (and there is a ton of traffic) and sometimes you get... I have to decline from further comment in the event that I ever cross-post.

there is a total a on early s register that disrupts every post. some retired trust baby that would have to sell his silver spoons to get his car running.

Hey Kevin, I reply as a guest on STF cuz the stupid board never remembers me and its too much trouble to sign in. Pretty boring there and I refer people to here, same as Rennlist Web forums.
This BBS is great soo much better than the days on the orginal 914club forums or Porshelist.
The technical help is awesome!

Rennlist is basically dead
flat-6.net has very little activity.
Pelican has slowed to a crawl.
I've looked at a couple of the Yahoo 914 forums (slow and no real content).
This is a VERY active board with lots of good tech content, pictures, and avatars of booty shaking (ala MikeZ).
Basically... this board rocks!
