Proper alignment of hood, headlights, eyebrows and bumper makes such a difference...
wonder why so many put so little effort into getting this right?

There's nothing better than a 914 front end when everything lines up.

Because most of the crooked ones suffer from improper body shop repairs; not alignment issues. beerchug.gif

I agree. almost impossible even with new rubber grommit things to get the gap between eyelid and lower trim piece correct. on one side I resorted to a small bold and nut so I could move it enough an tighten it to hold it in place . I still have to sit down and reconsider that whole thing, I regret not doing that all BEFORE paint and body were completed. the other answer is its a semi mass produced hand built car and alignment even fenders vary side to side on same car and from one car to the other so I Hans had a beer break between doing the right side and left side it may just be a few mm difference and on those things that makes a huge difference, .

The title of the thread thru me. Thought this would be about getting the car aligned and corner balanced, which makes a huge difference.

Maybe so... the survivors I've seen still wearing original paint have definitely had good alignment from the factory.
Maybe that is something to look for when buying a 914... a telltale sign of if it's been hit, repaired or abused.

My original paint survivor has great alignment.

One day I'll have to cut off and reweld my wifes rear hood hinges because they are about 3/16" too far forward.
