Searching for options to install my front windshield. Currently it is out and everything is clean (blank slate). I would prefer not to glue it in place. Is there a rubber gasket that you slide the windshield into? The same applies to the rear window.

Thanks Kevin

The glass actually becomes part of the structure when glued in and helps stiffen the car. When I was younger I had to take a class on glass replacement to be certified by GM and they showed that the glass actually makes a significant difference structural rigidity even though it's only bonded in.

The old rubber "rope in seals" always leak if you don't have buytl in them and it always makes a mess on hot days.

Butyl rubber is probably the best option for installing a 914 windshield.
While Urethane does glue in the windshield it makes the glass more prone to cracking as a 914 in best condition has a lot of body flex.

The butyl has a little give to it.
