Okay guys..

Key off and turn signal stalk up = Lights on??

Is this Porsche's idea or is my wiring messed up?


ALSO, when I connect a circuit tester (light bulb thingy) to the - post on the battery and then to the rear brake light leads..I get a light??????????????

This doesn't seem to be correct?

if you have your stalk up, right side parking lights will be on.
Down left side will stay on. Center all should be off.

Normal. My 993 does it too. Engine off- turn signal left open to left. Left turn light stays on.

I don't know why.

If I turn the car off with turn signal on it stops blinking but the turn signal lamps stay lit. I never really thought it was wrong or right. I just accepted it like the awfull buzzer that reminds you you left your key in the ignition even if you didn't.

Maybe the 911 guys on PP would like to hear about that

In some places in Europe, if you park on the street your outer light must be on.

Now you know the rest of the story.

It's a Euro/German thing. Ask Andy he will explain it.

it's a parking light.
cars in europe don't have side-markers ...

so when you park your car on the side of a dark road, just use the blinker lever to turn on the parking lights on either the left or right side.

pretty slick, eh?
