Here's a type IV fan shroud. This one has been modified with internal sheet metal to bypass the heat exchanger outlets and the alternator cooling outlet. The only outlets are the left and right cylinder banks, and there is also an internal fixed splitter for the oil cooler. All threads are good. Part of the right side cooling flap shaft bushing holder is missing- see photo.

Curious what the mods were intended to do, any history here ??

I don't know much about the specific intentions, but I would guess it was to improve the airflow to the cylinders by removing the disruptions caused by the small ducts to the heat exchangers and alternator.

This came to me indirectly, it was part of a group of spares from the estate of Chuck Forge, a local Porsche racer.
