Wanted to purchase a close to original 914. Color not important, no rust, can have needs, but not many. Original color is important, preferably original paint. Documentation also. Thank you!

Just so you know you're talking about a $10-15k car
rhodyguy
More than that. WAY more.

What you’re describing is a 25k plus car today without a lucky find. Auto Atlanta has at least one available if you are ready to spend that kind of money. No AA haters need comment I have no affiliation I just happened to do a Atlanta Craigslist search the other day and noticed them.
Bingjeep
My budget is up to 15k. Thanks

You will need to hunt, travel and not hesitate when you find it but possible.
Chi-town
There are plenty of them in that price range, stay away from the forums and you'll get better pricing

Don't be set on a year, the cars are all basically the same and you can add sway bars to any car.

Nice example.

Perhaps it's time to move on or simply that there's isn't much teeners in the surrounding area for me to get excited about owning this, so I'm just testing the waters to see if someone would be interested. I don't have to sell it, but for the right price anything is for sell.
I have this all original 73 Zambezi green 2.0 lt (with appearance package)
It was driven by the original owner from 73-93 which was then stored in his garage from 93-2011 when I bought it and started the restoration. Original 2.0 EFI Numbers matching engine and tranny. Both rebuilt by Brad Meyur, engine mod to 2056. Brakes, bushings, hoses, longs, shocks, tires ect ect. Even original dealer installed 8 track radio. Interior is all original tan. Fresh original Sikens single stage respray. I kept the original hell hole only because it's in very good shape for its age. I have documentation starting from date of original purchase thru it's most recent paint and body work. The car is road ready NEEDS NOTHING.
This is perfect for the original enthusiast. Pm me for any more info. Thinking around $28k.Click to view attachment

I think you may have accidentally posted this as a reply in someone else's thread instead of a new topic. Nice car, btw.

No mistake Jazzy
Since the original post referenced a "want to buy an all original", I thought I'd share my car. I'm on the fence for selling it. I hate to sell it due to the history on the car, but I just dont drive it enough to keep it.

To be honest, with all of your requirements of Originality, year, engine, "no rust", Original paint, some but not many needs, etc...you're approaching $30K in today's 914 market. You are after all looking for the best, most sought after year/model of all the 4 cylinder cars (sans the LE perhaps). As the example that @442nd914s shared, which is a beautiful car.

Can you find something similar in your price range, perhaps. That takes a lot of work and searching. Good luck!

I have this 74' available in your price range here in KY...
what it needs is nothing except to be driven...

Ohio, kentucky? Get pictures and if you like what you see go check out the car in person. LD transport has to be factored in to the final cost

@Bingjeep
No affiliation. I just found it near my area.
Decent price well below your budget and the leftover funds, you can do some personalization.

Here's one at the top end of your budget. Needs a few things but a great starting point.
