This September 6-9 We will be hosting an event in Forest Grove Oregon were calling The Beer Run. We will be driving some of the same roads we did for West Coast Rally 2018 and some even better ones.
So why call it the beer run? We will be staying at a very unique hotel that is pretty awesome. It was originally a Masonic retirement home. It was purchased by the Mcmenamin brothers and turned into a hotel and spa. They were some of the pioneers in micro breweries in Oregon. When they started brewing you could only sell your beer the the place that it was made any one other location. They started putting them up in little strip malls all over town. They they started getting historic properties that they could get some tax advantages for and block grants to renovate. The result now is they have some very coll properties with some cool little bars tucked into them and this is one of the best of them.

We will be doing drives leaving in mornings on Friday and Saturday. We will have a group dinner on Saturday night and a cars and coffee kind of show Sunday morning.
Oh and we are having some award winning beer brewed for the participants to take home.

We hope to make this an annual event and move around some of the cool properties in different areas.

There is Limited space in the hotel and it will fill up quickly.

The only way I could do this with a 914 would be to drive out ahead of time, store my car in the pnw, fly home for work as classes start and then fly out for the weekend. Have to say it is tempting. Retirement isn’t till February

We now have the drives figured out, the dinner is set for Saturday and we can't wait to do this event. We have people traveling in from Utah, California Washington and all over Oregon. We still have a couple of rooms set aside in our room block but the hotel is full. We have beer brewed up for us buy our good friend Ross who has been winning brew fest awards for a while now. If your thinking of joining us for a great weekend. Now is the time to step up before it's too late.

Here is the plan so far.
Friday 9/6 drive to Astoria for lunch on some great twisty roads
Friday night Movies on the Lawn at the Hotel at the outdoor bar Cigars and fire pits for those who like that.
Saturday Drive through a little bit of our wine country before crossing over the coast range to have lunch at beach. (Most of the same drive that everyone loved from WCR last year) Then back to the hotel for the banquet Saturday night. Sunday morning car photos and a short car show.
The hotel is unique and a very relaxed place to hangout with old friends and make some new ones. Bring a swimsuit for the Japanese soaking tub.
This is going to be a blast.
