An unsolicited tip, if you haven't used it before.
Make sure you put on 3-4 coats. If you don't put it on thick enough it can be an absolute nightmare to get off.

Not trying to throw a wrench into your idea, but the German flag is not Black/Red/Yellow, it is Black/Red/Gold ...
Yeah, the gold color has morphed over the years. Just a crazy idea.
