Mainly curious about hole on the side in first pic. Does everything look kosher otherwise? Thanks for any replies my manual doesn't give any detail and I have no others for comparison. It's a post 73 car.

Looks fine from what I can see, usually the 73-76 shift lever assembly is always ok except for wear in the reverse lockout plate

and the point on the lever where it meets the plate appears to be sound as well. The plate can wear in to lever. Good to go. Next up? Inspect all of the linkage bushings for slop.
