I'm posting for sale my dad's 1976 914 that's been fully (re)built.

This car is the second p-car that my dad has done a spit-style strip and build on (the first was a 1970 911T). For perspective, the car was fully stripped, put on a spit, rust was repair and panels were replaced when necessary, and the whole car was painted/undercoated and put back together with powdercoated brackets/bolts/assemblies etc.

The primary goal with this car was to be "fun, driveable, and trackable". It's been used as such. It shows some wear and it's not a garage/trailer/show queen. That said, it does clean up quite nicely. It has a full interior and despite the difficulty getting in and out (due to the seats and roll cage) it's a blast to drive to work on a nice day OR take to the track for a DE event.

The engine is a high compression 2.4L 4 cylinder that sounds amazing and pulls great. It's way faster than the 911T (though that isn't saying much). It's a riot.

A brief overview of the car follows:
Body:
Steel 914/GT fender flairs
916 fiberglass bumpers
Deleted side markers
Full respray (it goes without saying...)
Color matched roof
Sail panels removed
Missing the chrome windshield trim
Vinyl numbers on the doors (from doing DE)

Suspension:
911 front and rear suspension/brake conversions (no ebrake)
Bilstein shocks
Unknown (to me, my dad should know) swaybar.
15x7 and 15x9 replicas with OK tires.

Engine:
2.4L conversion built by Dick Hyland (a well known name in the area). 10:1 if I recall correctly. Carb'ed
MSD ignition
911 alternator/fan
Headers
No heat

Interior:
Kirkey aluminum racing seats with covers
Bolt in roll cage (with welded in plates)
Custom trim here and there
Rebuilt gauges

The asking price is 18k. He's located in Dutchess County NY. The car is currently being stored in the garage. He already sold the enclosed car trailer and has eyes on another project. Some of the attached pictures are during the build, and some of them are as the car sits now.

In my experience with the DMV as long as it comes with a pink slip, vin tag, has a windshield, lights and a horn you should be able to get plates. Looks like from the photos it was a street car at some point and they owner maybe just started only tracking it so took off the plates?

It's not currently registered because my dad stopped driving it. It's been off the road, but there's nothing precluding anybody from titling it in their name and putting plates on it. It's fully street legal, it just has no insurance policy or plates.

I'm not sure what I said in the posting that would have eluded to it not being street legal, but I'm sorry if it came off that way.

There's pictures of the car with plates being driven on the street. It's a trackable street car.
