Wrong hub for a 911, they need the non-stepped splines in the rear and it would have to be drilled for the 911 cancel ring.
Nope. Not true. Well, partially....
All of the 914 wheels and all of the early 911 wheels have the same spline count. They will all interchange. Granted the wheel outer diameters are different, the 914 uses a 380mm wheel, the 911 uses either a 400 or 430mm wheel.
The 911 guys want the early 914-6 wheels, as they were used on the 911 RSR. They could use the 4 cylinder wheels, but they keep spreading the false information that they are differently splined.
This was hashed out in an old thread here:
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...77498&st=20You do have to drill a 74 wheel for the 911 cancel cam. That involves drilling and tapping two holes, and cutting a countersync for them. But the wheel itself will bolt on.
We have a factory six, and I had the wheel from my wife's 74 bolted onto it. It was temporary, so I didn't drill the holes for the cancel cam. But everything else worked perfectly.
