The previous owner somehow removed the manual turning knobs from the headlight motors. Chitown gave me a couple motors a few months back. Is it possible to remove the knobs from the motors I have and put them on the motors in the car? They look like they're threaded, but there's nothing to grab onto to stop them from turning so I can unthread them. I took the two flat head screws off the housing but I don't want to go any further and wreck my donor otors. Any suggestions?

Yes. Spin the knob in the opposite direction from the arrow on the knob. It should come right off.

I had been doing that. I just tried lifting the housing up a bit to give me something to bite on and what do you know it worked. Thanks for your suggestion. Now I can go to the swap meet next weekend and have some headlights.

Lock the linkage while you spin the knob
