You must have quite the span for the storage attic. Our second story attic did not span as far as we had the i beams to interrupt the span every so often, but the space is magnificent now, great place for NOS 914 parts

Nice attic space. I always felt like attics were too much wasted space. So I decided to use mine.

Mine is only 25ft wide, so not a big as yours. High peaked roof allows a lot of storage for 914, Audi CQ and Fox Wagon parts.
These trusses allow me to have the whole attic as an open area. They work better for me than I-trusses, because I could have the tops sloped back and my rafters could run next to the trusses. They allowed me to have them on 24in centers vs 16in centers.
They also don't shrink, bow or warp like solid lumber does.

Oh, yea we use the same rapid rack type shelving. You may want to put some feet on the bottom of your selves. Depending upon the weight on the shelves, they can sink into the plywood, and may create a hole.

Our attic was spanned too wide, so it's a little bouncy, nothing up there but sheet metal and glass, can't get too heavy.

Another added bonus to these trusses vs I-trusses is the ability to run electric lines and air lines through the trusses. Of course, easier to hang stuff.

Nice not having to design for a snow load.....

soon no one in the US will have to! (LOL). Georgia is already becoming like the old Florida. Great for a long long 914 driving season, plus we have great smooth roads and twisty mountain courses to run

have the complete roof on now, and have taken down the temporary wall between the original shop and the new expanded area. Today we are knocking out the last of the concrete foot wall. Our goal is to be able for each mechanic to work on two 914s at once, one on the lift and one behind it on the floor. We will also have a concours reassembly area, a new expanded unit room, and plenty of dry inside storage for used 914 parts

keen eyes!!! An extra for my Dad's Riviera! My Dad and I went to the Buick dealer on May 28th 1964 (I was 12 years old) and took delivery. It was one of the most exciting days of his life. He wanted a 356 as we already had a vw bug, but the four children could not fit in it!!!
Still had a hard time with the Riviera and four bucket seats!
