I used a bit of heat to try to make a more defined bend just below the overflow fitting.
bkrantz
I have not checked the latest list in a while. Looks like slow progress.
bkrantz
Back to soft stuff. This is PVC edge trim (from J&J Auto Fabrics).
bkrantz
This edge measures 1/8 x 3/4".
bkrantz
I spread the opening to make it possible to insert the soft perlon panel cut edge.
bkrantz
The other ingredient: 3/4" 3M adhesive tape.
bkrantz
Step 1: run the 3M tape along the lower edge of the glass.
bkrantz
Step 2: Get the PVC edging on the perlon cut edge, and try to make it even (not shown).

Step 3: Pull the covering off the tape and stick the edging in place.
bkrantz
I like it.
bkrantz
With the edge in place, I could install the side targa pads.
bkrantz
Then I got out the seat belt hardware. This is the kit for mounting the shoulder yokes.
bkrantz
Here's the order: bolt-plastic washer-yoke-plastic washer-large metal washer-metal spacer.
bkrantz
Yoke mounted on the left side.
bkrantz
And the plastic cover.
bkrantz
Now that the back panel is done, I can start on the carpet set. This one is from Performance 900 Porsche interiors.

When I had my case work done the only thing removed were the head studs so they could deck it. Did your shop tell you to do all that?
I was at J&J not to long ago, the family that has had it forever is no longer there.
bkrantz
I will almost certainly need to ship my case for machining. And I did not trust my packing or the carrier to keep any studs from damage.
bkrantz
Carpet day1.

I got out my contact adhesive. Brush-on for the car interior, and spray-on for the back side of the carpet.
bkrantz
First piece: the small section that goes above the pedals.
bkrantz
In place.
bkrantz
Then the left fender well cover.
bkrantz
Pretty smooth.
bkrantz
Passenger footwell and right fender well. I cut the opening to mount around the steering shaft.
bkrantz
With all the complex shapes, I could not avoid some wrinkles. But the center console will hide those.
bkrantz
Front tunnel cover. I decided to trim it around the shifter flange.
bkrantz
A bit fiddly, but done.
Morph914
Nice job! I have done all mine except the center tunnel piece. I am waiting until all my electrical issues are straitened out before putting that piece and the center counsel in.

Love seeing your progress, keep it coming!

Cheers,
John

Carpet day 2!

Right sill piece.
bkrantz
Installed, pretty straight.
bkrantz
Left sill piece.
bkrantz
The left sill challenge: the hand brake indentation, plus the brake mounting stuff.
bkrantz
Initial placement. I decided I want the carpet rows to be straight on top of the sill.
bkrantz
Now to get the carpet stretched a bit, and stuck into the recess.
bkrantz
Getting there.
bkrantz
Bottom pieces placed for visual check. I plan to use velcro on these.
bkrantz
New GO pedal.
bkrantz
Installed. Note: bolts can't be longer that 12 mm.
bkrantz
Replacement pedal board, with some new hardware. The original board on my car was a bit curvy.
bkrantz
Board installed.
bkrantz
And carpet, too.
bkrantz
Now for seat belts.
bkrantz
Fancy.
djway
Love that new car smell smile.gif

Great work! And great attention to detail, even the clamps to hold the carpet in place are yellow like your car. biggrin.gif

Plus the heat gun on the floor. I used that a VERY little bit on the carpet before clamping.
bkrantz
I could not resist seeing how it looks with the center console. I had that recovered last year.
bkrantz
Then I got out all the brake lever parts.
bkrantz
Short cable, equalizer, and spring installed.
