Bob, I gotta tell you it has been a great time following your build. I appreciate all the sharing that you have done along the way. It looks like you will be driving that beautiful piece of car art fairly soon. beerchug.gif

Yeah, this car is "kind of" nice.
Bob, the interior looks like a Limo.
I'm ready for a ride when you're finished. Ha

Beauty....man.
bkrantz
Thanks, guys.

Doug, you are guaranteed a ride--just bring the family to Colorado!

While at my son's house, I asked him to try his 3D printer on something.
bkrantz
First attempt.

They can already do things printed that could not be done before.

Printed pistons
bkrantz
2nd (or maybe 3rd) attempt, with sanding to remove the bottom layer.

For those into 3D printing, here are the STL files.

Getting ready to install the rest of the engine gear. Here is the blower housing, with the raw magnesium looking pretty good after blasting.
bkrantz
Two-part matte spray.
bkrantz
The magnesium got a little darker after painting.

I was hoping to get a lot done on my 914 today, but got deflected when my mountain bike lost the rear brake. That lead to my least favorite bike job: bleeding brakes. The system and method makes bleeding 914 brakes look easy.
bkrantz
After that, I was almost out of time, but did put the blower flap thing together.
bkrantz
Test fit.

And then satin black (still wet here).

Blower fan, moderately clean. But should come apart, right?
bkrantz
Got to use my triple-square bits again.
bkrantz
Now ready for better cleaning.

Last box of powder-coated parts, with all the engine sheet metal.
bkrantz
Right side duct, and new rubber gasket for the oil cooler top.
bkrantz
In place.
bkrantz
Time for the new dipstick tube (font).
