Hello, mechanics and to all. I have an oil leak, seems to be dripping from the strainer. I tightened it good after taking it out and checking to see if there was a gasket, there was one. It is very flat, do I need to buy a new gasket? Maybe it is from a different source just looking like it's from the oil strainer ????????????????

The retaining bolt for the oil screen cover has a very low torque — 9.4 foot pounds. Over tightening can cause a leak and damage to the baffle plate or case. If you’re not sure where the leak is from — there or higher up for example the oil cooler seals, dry everything off and then restart the engine so that you can see where the leak originates.
