Was wondering if someone can offer an suggestion of what I did wrong. I am good at doing that!

I replaced my FI harness with a new one from Jeff Bowsley. Fired up the 914 and it will idle normally for two seconds then goes up to 4000 rpm!

Throttle body looks normal.

Needless to say that is a tad high! Did I hook something up wrong? I marked everything and took pictures.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Original owner.

Sounds like a major vacuum leak? I'd double check all your hose connections against the pelican diagram as a good starting point.

I'd agree, to get to 4K rpm it has to be getting air from somewhere. Check to see if the TB is closing proper then start looking for a hose off, or a dry rot broken hose, etc.
