Are the holes between the engine compartment and rear trunk to be plugged or left open?

I don’t have those. If it were I’d plug them.

This is under the stock rear lid springs, right?
My 74 has them, no plugs, if you look it's double walled, hole through one wall but not the other.

Caplugs (sp?) will work nicely here. They used to mail out free samples & maybe they still do.

No plugs, my '74 didn't have plugs and it was pretty original fall '73 build.I
