Best way to make sure you get what you want is to buy it yourself! What did you guys buy? Stripping the engine compartment with this!

We ride pretty much year round here. Occasional snow but usually gone by 10am. I switch to my Kestrel MTB in the winter. Nice trainer!

I've contemplated buying one of those to strip the paint on my project car. Does it work well, Rob?

Edit: Oh, and I bought one of these for ME to help with engine drops, swaps, and installation onto the stand. Merry Christmas to me smile.gif

Pretty well actually. The drum they send with it stripped about 2sf before looking worn. Order extra drums!

I got one a couple months ago. They are super useful. I even set it under the car when it’s on jack stands as extra insurance.

Today it was 50 degrees and raining. I’ll finish a ride in the rain but I won’t start one. It’s also dark at 4:30 so indoor riding is how it’s going to get done.

Nice gift!
I’ve been using a smart trainer for a few years now. Upgraded a few months ago to the latest Kickr. The older I get the less I like riding in the Seattle rain. The trainer is also great for knocking out some quick miles before work, too.

That Eastwood drum stripper is a beast. I used one to strip the bottom of my 2002 and it was so much quicker than any other method I've ever used. Porter Cable make a pretty decent version too.

now I can watch the game AND work on my car at the same time, no laying around too much to do to sit ifn front of a TV doing nothing for hours on end lol!!

There are other companies that make consumables for these tools that work well but sell for a lot less.
