Brett Johnson, the author of the 914 restorers guide to authenticity along with the 356 and 911 guides, and I are beginning to work on a new 50th anniversary edition. It will be largely enhanced, full color, and feature engine and suspension pictures as well as the interior and storage compartment details. We can also all have a hand in the edit if any of you want to.
What Brett needs now are contacts of any of you with original cars, tattered is better than restored as we want original configuration pictures not redos. If you have such cars, by all means please send your information to Brett at 356drb@indy.net. We want to get this book out asap. I will be editing beginning Jan 1.
As a guide, all of the black and white pictures in the old book need to be retaken in color, so those shots are first if you have any of those cars. If you do not have the old book and want to start to edit, and cannot find a book, here is a link from our site:

Finally besides being credited for your input and pictures, as Brett says, "make your car a star"!

Edit suggestion - Omit the 916 information that the original edition contains. None of us mortals are restoring a 916 and never will. Replace it with more relevant 914 data. For that matter you could probably delete the stuff on GTs also. Glad to hear the new book will be in color.

Personally, for us who are building or have built a 914-6 GT clone or 916 clone, it would be nice to have details on how these cars were built. Either in this book or a separate book entitled GT, 916, race cars, special projects like the 914-8's, pictures, part numbers, etc.

Since it's going to be in color... pics of cars in all the color options.

It would also be helpful to have all the yellow cars grouped, blues, greens... to tell the shades apart.
