I have five rear upper trunk latches. They have steel plunger cups to replace the plastic ones. The latches were taken apart and zinc plated.
I also have some NOS rear lower latches too.

$75 each shipped.

Steel plungers are a big plus.

Yes they are plastic so they can break. Most other Porsche and VW latches use metal.

Bruce gave me one of the metal caps for my latch. Looks really nice.

I always thought it was a difference in years? 70-72 steel, 73+ plastic?

I have 5 early cars and they all came with the same white plastic cap as the later cars.
