Hi guys - hope everyone having a good week.

I have several steering wheels and several centers, all separate. Other than just trying to fit them to each other are there part numbers / stamping that indicate what belwkngs together?

The base wheel are all the same. Only difference is the mounting hardware. No part numbers stamped except for the horn contact ring on later model. Used VW contact.

Any wheel that part number ends in “10” is early, has a flat front and uses a horn push button. The back fits on a Porsche style steering shaft. Wheels that end in “11” are mid and late. They have a bevel on the front. The back fits a VW style shaft. The early horn pads have a flat area for the horn button. The mid and late have a little tab for a horn wire.

the steering wheels are all the same except for the numbers, for the plastic ones and the leather ones and the foam ones. However the hubs are different
70-71 914-4 with plastic hub
72-76 with shorter plastic hub
70-71 914-6 with no hub
72 914-6 with shorter plastic hub

the leather wheels follow
