I just installed a new TPS on my 914. $96 from GPR, so prices went down. There is a drastic improvement in throttole response, due to my old TPS being worn out.

Chris, how did you determine that yours was bad? I suspect mine is too but it checks out ok using the ohm meter and B. Anders method. Hate to spend $96 on trial and error but may have to.

Pop it open and look at the traces. If they are pretty worn (ie deep lines in the brass) toss it.

What Geoff said. I have two old ones, and the tracks have grooves worn in them. That and slight bucking at part load were my clues that a replacement was needed.

One of the other "symptoms" is a bucking at steady throttle openings.
Im guessing this is again related to the wearing of traces and arcing of contacts.
