Hi everyone, am putting my springs back on and wanted to know what tension is more normal? If I hook them both on the middle slots the lid when I lift it will kinda just float about 3/4 open barely. So I started to move them to the farthest slot and as soon as I moved the first spring now the lid will open itself and go all the way up. IDK If I move the other one to even it out the lid will fly open kinda fast. Seems like I’m in the middle of maybe what normal should be. Any thoughts on how they were rolling off the showroom and if I move both springs to the furthest slot would to much tension stress anything? Thoughts would be appreciated thank you.

I’d just use the notch that just holds the hood open and no more as you don’t want to stress the joint unnecessarily.

What is the procedure to remove the springs?

What is this mysterious front trunk you speak of? Next thing you know you will also have a back trunk.

Mine only has a trunk and frunk. Could be a different Porsche. wink.gif

Sorry I am tired and rummy.

Wearing a pair of leather gloves, open the hood all the way and prop it with a broomstick, grab the spring and pull it out of the notch.

I put gloves on and used a thin nylon rope, looping it around the end of the spring, wrapped the rest around my hand and pulled the rope and pulled the spring with my other hand also. Put back on the same way

I made a simple T handle out of 1/4' round and welded a nut on the end to slip over the spring end.
