I have a VDO temp gauge I want to hook up but don't have a sender that is known to be compatable.
The gauge is part # 310 274/82/2 12V
The needle lifts slightly when wired to the stock sender in my 914 6
The right sender has to fit an early 2.0 6cyl.
TIA

Stock sender should work with gauge. It is 150C or 302 F

Mark
Am I that lucky ?
I'm waiting for a GT fuel gauge to run with my 911 combo temp/press
I'm planning a long trip so looked at what I might substitute for peace of mind.
I have small oil press/oil temp gauges in a VDO mount that will fit in place of the ash
tray. Hooked up the oil press gauge/ warning light no problem.
Hooked up the temp. gauge too using the 6 sender. The needle lifts slightly ign. on
but only have temporary connections and very cold weather here so can't verify
indication of higher temp untill I rig up better connections.
Then I can drive the car to achieve higher operating temp and verify
compatability. Will report back.
Thank you

Fantastic.
Mark you were right.
Completed the install and drove the car.
On a 40 degree day I saw 170 degree oil temp with the stock sender.
Glad to have it done with parts I had on hand.
Thanks for the help.
Don't know why the mount looks brownish.
