I have one hole on my transaxle half shaft flange that is stripped. I obviously need to repair this however I am not really sure how. I do not want to take apart the transaxle if possible. What are my options? Is it possible to replace the half shaft without taking apart the transaxle?

yes.
buy a new transmission output shaft
and a new seal

pull the CV from that inboard side
large headed bolt holds the flange into the tranny

you won't have to remove the tranny
it will be tight for space.

I probably have a used -4 shaft and a seal (new) I could sell you

IIRC, that nut has a low torque value. This from a guy who can't remember what he had for breakfast this morning. laugh.gif
