After looking through the forum a few time this week, I realized the back pad is more than a single thin layer of foam. I did run across a few pictures of the some of the foam and it looked to be around an inch and a half thick. Does anyone know for sure? From what I can tell nobody makes replacement foam.
Is there a thread I might have missed showing the the recovering of the backing?

It's a molded foam. You can cut it from a block if you are inclined. Or the easiest way is to repair what you have using some sheet gluing and cutting. If you have a base to start with. You can try classifieds as it should be inexpensive to ship and mostly it's the vinyl that takes the damage.
BTW got the vinyl if you need it.

There are some great Youtube videos on repairing upholstery foam. I posted links to a couple that were helpful to me along with pics of my repair of my seat foam in m build thread. Same procedure works for the backpad. You can see that here:

And here's a link to a small repair I did on my backpad foam.

There wasn't much anything left in the car. I did get the molded backing from you. I thought is was just a thin foam layer like the front windshield pad. As I started looking at it and pictures of how it should look. I concluded there is a thicker piece of foam surrounding the seat back.
