On a VW on Facebook. Not knowing VW is this a type 2 or 3 motor? Why not side draft carbs on a type 4?

Very interesting. I've been going to VW shows for the past 25+ years and have never seen this setup.

I saw that on Facebook today. I thought that looked really cool! No air cleaner though. You could make a few different manifold lengths to see which worked best.

It's a type 4 I think, type 3 had a generator mounted on top just outboard of the distributor right where the coil is.

Looks like a Type 4 engine in a Notch, kinda cool!

Yeah, the trick setup for the fan was to use a 411 fan housing and then the bellows hookup so you suck air like stock.
