Sitting at home under the stay at home rules in Ohio gives one time to catch up on reading. Here is an interesting article that rehashes some of what we already know.

The yellow "6" is interesting and certainly beautiful but it's not a real six, is it? The ignition switch is on the column....

Wondering about the logo rockers and the rectangular front side markers. Looks like an unusual knob on the dash in the ignition switch picture.

Some of the very late 914-6's had column ignitions.

So there ya go - always a chance that I'm wrong.

How about those sidemarkers, @pete000 ?

Either way, it's a beautiful car.

Cool! Thank you.

But only the 72 914-6 had the ignition on the column. And they were only sold in Europe, so any 72 six with a 914 vin is a grey market car.

I think a hand full of 72's came here. I looked at a Irish green one many years ago that was for sale. I thought it was a clone, found out it was factory.

nice compilation - should be a sticky just for the history photos & lesson -

re: ign sw - the car in story is claimed to be a 1970 914-6

- y'all are correct that is not a correct strg col & sw for said claim

we can accept the side markers under the "personalized Porsche " category. eh?
