Olympus should allow you to resize w/o having to go to paint....look in the pull downs.

Once resized....you can drag and drop onto your desktop and then load from there.

Download Imager Resizer from Microsoft... here...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...ppowertoys.mspx

Scroll down and it is on right.

This allows you just to right click the photo and hit resize. It will resize to 4 popular sizes...

If there's an option in the "open" dialog for "file types", set it to "show all files". Remember, Windoze figures out files by that last three-letter extension, so you need to make sure the picture is "Pic of cats.JPG"...

Microsoft Paint is the wrong program for resizing a photo. You want to open it with MS Photo Editor. I prefer IRfanview - a free image editing program (check download.com).

My version is several years old (1998) and goes by the name:
Olympus Camedia Master.
I don't use any of the upload/downlaod functions that talk
to the camera directly. I had problems with it.
I went to Frys and bought a USB media reader. They are only
about $10-15 and well worth it. With the newer Windows OS's you don't
even need to install drivers. (I still run 98SE and used the included drivers)
Sure you have to physically remove the media but once you do, it is much
faster and I think it is way easier to use since the media will show up as a
removable disk and you can access your pictures with any tool directly.
You can use any native windows tool, or any other imaging software
that you may have.
No Frys around? Walmart even sells them for under $20.

I still do use the Olympus Camedia software alot because it offers a nice
preview of all your pictures in the selected directory.
With the version I have, once you select an image you can simply select
[Image] [Resize] from the top menues and you can resize the image.
