I'm sure it's probably been discussed before but I can't find it.
Have the chrome fog light grills always been plastic or were some of them pot metal? Seems to me the early ones were pot metal.

Legend has it there were some early metal ones. I tried making the aluminum ones but the finishing costs killed it. Instead we made new plastic ones. The ones you speak of I believe were the fog light delete.

My first 2 Sixes had metal foglight grills- they were both 1970 cars. I have yet to find metal grills since.

The early 1970 914 1.7 I scrapped had plastic grills that the chrome was blasted badly. Not metal at all so maybe a few 69 914/6's?

My 70 was VIN 4702902960 and did not have them. Yes, I remember the 14 prototype having metal grills but that's a prototype car.
