Full Version: Quad gauge voltmeter failed,

I have this neat quad gauge in my 914 I bought from a member here many years ago.

@timothy_nd28 converted it to LED lighting and added the sweet trim ring for me.

The voltmeter in it has died, it always reads 0 volts.

I checked and there is 12ish volts across the terminals when the key is on.

Anyone know where to get the meters for this type of quad gauge?

I am assuming I can replace just the voltmeter.

I have not tried taking it apart to see if there is part number on it yet.

I did try google, Pelican Parts, etc. etc. and got loads of round volt meters and other incorrect hits.

It seems weird for such a simple meter to die when the others are all still working...

Are you sure the sender is working.
If you are sure it’s the gauge, I would get a good used 911 gauge and remove the meter.

I am not sure I understand. Is there a sender for driving the voltmeter?

Doesn't it just need switched power and a ground?

Is there a 911 voltmeter that will fit this quad gauge?

Who sells it and what do I search for?

Sorry if I am missing something obvious here.

Ok, I think I see what you are saying.

Buy the whole round style voltmeter and take the guts out of it.

Then install the guts into the quad gauge?

I’m just guessing that’s where the original one came from.

I think you are probably right.

I will have to crack it open and see.
