I bought one about three years ago from AA which has a foreign company repro these(I dunno if this piece is the same or different)

I too bought a few of the brazilian and mexican made handles in the 80's. They were 163.00 then, and didn't last but two years before breaking.

It is a flawed design- my fix is for ever.

Am I missing it? What did you do?
URY914
Check it out...
I can do for $75 bucks but if you're good with a drill press, hack saw, file and fine skill you could do it to.

how about the plastic piece in carbon fibre???????
URY914
You can already buy the plastic replacement piece. Several people (Pelican, Tweeks, AA) sell them and their made from a new and improved plastic.

Yes, I've gotten the new ones(black plastic). They don't last any longer than oem's. I'm just a dreamer of immortality for the 914. Nothing ever breaks!( big sigh!).
URY914
I had heard the new black one were stronger. Must of believed the AA spin Dr.
