My brother Greg...who is to busy to post, because of wedding plans....has rebuilt his heads and wants to re-ring as well....he would like to know if vw rings will work....the motor is a IV 2.0....

The Porsche rings are different thickness and radial depth than those for the VW bus pistons.

I have the correct Porsche rings for the 2.0 914 pistons if you want them..

Measure the ring thickness! As Jake said, they're different. If you have VW pistons, you'll need VW rings. If you have Porsche pistons, you'll need porsche rings. The Cap'n
