Thanks for looking in your pile. Let me know how much shipped to 54023. Thanks!

All rear hubs are the same. NO benefit to drilling early hubs for 5 lug conversion.
euro911
I thought the early ones had extra meat in the 5 lug stud locations. confused24.gif

^He's right. I think it was just on the 1970 models, but some of them had extra metal where the 5 studs would be. Stronger than drilling a later hub.
MidshipMadness
Yup, there is a difference. Early hubs (1970-71) have more meat and are stronger.
914Sixer
You can't drill the holes in the proper location due to the 4 bolt holes already drilled.

idea.gif thought I'd seen it done before...

Thanks for the pic Sixnotfour. This has been done by countless people ever since the 914 came out in 1970.

They are a great way to go but do require 911/914-6 cv's, axles, etc.

Prices are all over the map.

Rgalla914/6 was going to sell me a pair for $50 shipped but he realized he gave them away with an engine he sold last week. No big deal...so my search goes on.

MidshipMadness

Just a reminder that late hubs can be welded up to add additional material for the studs to mimic the early hubs.

Agree that it is extras work to weld them and then to have to true the mounting faces back up on a lathe but late hubs are more readily available.

Keep up the search! aktion035.gif They do show up from time to time.

Haven't sold an engine in years and didn't throw in early hubs when I didn't sell it.
I also didn't offer hubs for $50. that I don't have.
Or .....I'm much older than I thought.

I'm sorry, I had to go back and look at who actually offered me that deal and it was mgp4591 not Rgalla. I went back to my PM's and it appears I got Rgalla andmgp4591 switched and in the end I quoted the wrong member.
