I know there is no such thing as a true chrome paint, but what is the best/closest thing to it in a spray silver paint? I want the brightest possible silver out there to freshen up my P O R S C H E grille letters economically. Input appreciated.

There is an "Spray Chrome" process that is amazing and chrome like. I think some companies are now selling kits but it's not cheap. You would be further ahead to just by new lettering for the price of a kit.

You're looking for the rattle can solution though but I've never found any of those products to be overly convincing as chrome. I'll be curious to see what others have been using.

I have a deck lid that has the letters sprayed gold metallic. At 20' and 20 mph it doesn't look too bad. confused24.gif

For something that gets close and won't break the bank, Spaz Stix Chrome. Lots of Youtube vids on it. I bought it online but saw it for sale at my local Radio Shack. Apparently it is popular with gamers.

I used it to refresh my turnsignal reflectors. I didn't follow the instructions for the best mirror finish, just sprayed over what was already there. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?s=&...t&p=2801333

If you are planning to use Spoke’s LEDs, you may not need to restore the silver reflector housing. Just a suggestion.

He's painting the grill letters. The pic of reflectors was mine just to show an example of a quick respray with Spaz Stix. The proper way to get the best reflectance is to spray a background coat of high gloss black and then the chrome spray over that. It will never be as good a chrome or the more expensive process Phil posted.
