I bought a new set of center caps and want to replace the old ones. What's the best way to go about it without tearing up the caps? They seem to be really stuck on there.
Thanks, Roger

Here’s the way I did it. Remove the wheel. Use a drift or something similar. Tap the edge of the back of the cap where it meets the inner bore, going all the way around. It will come out with a little patience.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7914550 I purchased some PVC couplers that fit the front OD and the back ID. All of 4-5$ and it works perfectly.

If you wrap a little thin foam on the inside of the OD side it keeps from marring the center cap when you reinstall the caps.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7914550This is the way. You also buy a small piece of pvc and use it to install your center caps without any damage.
