32 is about the best you can do on a 009... did you do the float test on the 009 wink.gif

28 on a mallory works good

I run 28 on my PEFI then after 4800rpm it retards to 24 degress.

but the new 009 came with a box of parts from the PO cool_shades.gif

009's have about 17 degrees of total advance
you need 28 degrees BTDC of total advance at 3500 rpms
so at idle you will have about 10-11 degrees of advance

Get a stock dizzy as even those work better than the pos 009 as they gots way more advance built into them.
LongARM
is the stock distributor a vacuum advance or mechanical...????
i tried the float test.that Mark suggested and it sunk beer.gif

both. mech adv in the unit and the vac adv...well you see that one.
