I had posted a want to buy ad for some excellent condition axles and the world member 914LIVE responded and gave me a wonderful story of how he had a very nice pair of axles from what was a low mileage concourse 1976 914 that got hit. I am sure we all remember the posts of him parting this car.
So to be cautious i searched and read many of his comments in threads and offerings of parts and did not see anything negative so i moved ahead with negotiating a deal and he sent me the following photos to show the condition of the parts. The paint was chipped but that was easy to fix so i purchased them.
He did ship them fast but when i opened them i was a bit upset that one of the axles had a damaged boot retainer from an idiot trying to pry it off. Luckily i still had my axles to repair it.
I did text him the photos of the damage and there was no response.
so i went back to the photos that he sent me to see if i just overlooked the damage but he did a good job of making sure to hide the damage.
Unfortunately some people are still deceptive to try and make a buck.
Hope this helps someone avoid the same irritation that i went through.
Chris
