Only one day to go and no bids.
Looks like a pretty good 914-6 with upgraded (displacement) engine on original block.
No one has even tried to exceed the starting bid of $55k.
Perhaps the "buy it now" price of $125k (which is pretty steep for the pics and description offered on Ebay) is scaring people off?

Love the colour and the steelies. Looks clean in the pix but no pix of hell hole, etc.

Not sure why undercarriage is white- always seen either body colour or black. Wish they'd kept the original passenger seat.

Will be interesting to see what it goes for if it sells. Surprised this isn't on BAT- seems like a good car for them.

Definitely not enough hi res pics for his asking price.

Could be one that gets relisted a few times, looks honest enough but the market is rather stromberg.gif @ the moment and certainly not in that buy it now range with the mileage and less than accurate resto.

Appears to be a great car. But the ad is lacking in detailed, high-resolution photos and maybe a video of it running and driving. Love Adriatic Blue. I hope a fellow member ends up buying it. beerchug.gif

What's with that tool kit. Paint looks way to "glossy" in my opinion. The seller has no clue about what he is selling. I don't see one correct tool in that reproduction tool bag so why post a picture?

Sixes did have a grey undercoating so that's probably what they were going for so it's not horrible, but just from the photos, that doesn't appear to match the six grey undercoating very well.

Apparently, in 2009 this car was on eBay – after a racing accident; the auction back then included a 914-4 as a donor car. Went off track on 4th lap at Sears Point due to over-sized brakes on front and went into rear end upside down tumble. So one would need a careful PPI from someone capable of evaluating the body structure.
raynekat
Amazing you wouldn't disclose something like that in the Ebay ad????
Cairo94507
That is very concerning. I hope a knowledgable person goes over that chassis with a magnifying glass and also checks the VIN's on the body closely as well. Better to be safe and do a good PPI.

Has anyone sent a message to the seller asking why this wasn't mentioned? The response could be interesting.

On the other hand, many of our cars have been damaged in the last 50 years and most sales won’t include details to what happened 20,30,40 years ago. And this car could have been repaired better than another car with a lesser repair. Bottom line, It’s really important to know what you are buying and what to look for.

Up to 65K...didn't think it would go that high.

I agree, the important thing is knowledge of the past history, and a knowledgeable eye as to the quality of the repair. It could be the car was fully repaired to top condition, but only an expert could make that determination.

Sold for $75k. Wow. Might have been worth it, but the ad didn't seem to include enough supporting information. Maybe a local buyer that was able to look at it confused24.gif

$75k sales price. Didn't see that coming. His "buy it now" price was $125k. Guess that was a hail mary to see if someone would bite. Didn't think he would take a number as low as $75.

Knowing what is known about the car, likely a good sales price for a real six.
