Sold.....The time has come to sell my 1974 2.0 that I've been working on for the last two years. I've owned it for over fifteen years and bought it from a Porsche mechanic that owned it over twenty years. He bought it from a lady customer at his shop. I've even spoken with the original owner. We believe I'm the fourth owner. Car was stripped and painted Alaska blue metallic.(original color) NO rust repair. NO hell hole issue. 911 suspension with Al Reed Fuchs w/NOS lug nuts. Sway bars w/new bushings. I chose to use a space saver spare to clear the brakes and have a Porsche compressor in the trunk. Thirty miles since completed. Not washed yet. Top is being painted this week and has all new seals and fits very well. I need to let the car sit in the sun for everything to seat well. I've spent crazy money on this car. Everything works but the cigarette lighter, seat belt warning and washer system(space saver spare). I just broke the odometer coming home. Speedometer goes for repair tomorrow. New tires, battery, wiper arms and blades, nozzles, antenna, rear trunk lock,LED bulbs, console, rubber, doors and trunk keyed the same, trunk light w/LED,Boxster brakes on front(yellow) w/stock rears, drilled rotors, stainless brake lines, upgraded master cylinder, bumper tops,re chromed bumpers, rebuilt engine with new clutch, everything powder coated, all new cables,SSI exhaust w/Monza muffler, new bright work, windshield and trim, sail panel vinyl and trim, side maker and turn signal lens and a nice pair of tail light lens I bought here, new driving lamp lens w/PPF,new grilles, new horns. Original seats but replaced back pad, recovered the console(all 3 pieces.). Dash is very nice. New sun visors. New German loop carpet, rebuilt park brake, pedal assy, seat belts. Passenger door panel has a 1/2" tear that's barely noticeable. Original F/I w/ new fuel tank, and balanced injectors. Alpine radio w/four speakers and new amp. The clock even works. I've been buying NOS parts since I've owned the car. The car was assembled with all new hardware and latches. Some things may need a little tweeking as this is my first refitting of a 914. Everywhere you look is new. If I get my asking price I'll include many extra parts. I have trouble posting pictures but I have hundreds. Asking 24,500 obo. You really need to see it!Click to view attachmentClick to view attachment

Sorry I just added it. There are dozens of things done that I haven't added. It's not perfect but as nice as most. I'm a twenty year PCA member(this time). I've raced and driven Porsche cars fourty years.

Looks very nice. I am curious on the condition of the engine and transmission. The pics of the engine compartment look very clean.

Thanks

Sorry to do this again. See the comment on the engine rebuild. How long ago and what was done? Transmission condition? Mileage?
racingredsc
Engine was totally disassembled, case was cleaned, crank was polished,(std-std)all new hardware, reused original cylinders and pistons(tested perfectly),new main and rod bearings, crank gear, cylinder heads done by Xtreme cylinder heads in Palm City FL. All new valves, seats, springs retainers, studs(all of Bill's tricks),stock cam. All sheet metal powder coated glossy black, fan shroud silver and intake runners grey. New starter. I have all the receipts. Work was done by a friend who is a forty year Porsche mechanic. Engine was built this year It was started just weeks ago. We cut NO corners as I intended to drive this as my last Porsche. Total rebuild except pistons and cylinders. I have all the receipts. Transmission is excellent and was gone through seven years ago before the car was parked. New Sachs clutch kit and flywheel was resurfaced New flywheel bolts as well. All new hardware. New Taco plate. The I have driven it less than thirty miles. This car sat for seven years before we bought it. I have put less than Fifteen thousand miles on it in fifteen years. Most on the people in the Carolinas Region PCA will remember my wife doing DE's in this car. Everything I used was either bought on this forum,914 Rubber or Auto Atlanta.Click to view attachment

Hey everyone I'm the "first guy" and it really is a beautiful car, first class everything. I owned a '76 over a decade ago that taught me a lot about working on cars but ended up requiring too much time to keep going, and I didn't have the money to send it out to get things fixed right.

This car is beautifully restored with all the right changes for driveability and enjoyment and hopefully I won't be looking for crazy tech advice for a little while at least! THe original owner has been great to work with and is a real Porschephile!

Congratulations! Looks like a very nice car.
