I have found engine # 6404228 for an early 914-6. If you are looking for it for a resto let me know. I don't need it. Thanks, Kevin

If not claimed by original car, are you still interested in selling it?

My /6 is #374 with engine number 6404159 so i don't think they were installed in cars in perfect sequence.

My guess is that this engine is from a VIN between 914.043.0335 and 914.043.0375

More than twenty years ago I had the opportunity to buy car # 0371 on Long Island.
It was paired with a 356 Roadster.
My brother took the 356. I passed on the 6 for ~ $ 4-5000.
That car would fit into Glenns window. Is the engine on the east coast ?
The car is not listed on this site.

I find it strange that a guy in Northern California is selling a motor that is installed in a car for sale in Goodyear, Arizona.
Maybe Kevin could explain his offering?

In the originality forum he posted he was looking to buy the car and was not going to use the engine.

4 days remaining on the auction. Something doesn’t make sense...

Perhaps if someone wanted the engine for their 6, the potential buyer could increase their bid based on the fact that the engine was “sold’. If I had a 6 w/out original motor and the original engine was for sale, it might be worth 2X to me.
... just speculation

That makes perfect sense now....
