Trying to sort out a bouncing speedometer. I plan on replacing the speedo cable bc the current one is very old and I thought the bouncing speedo might be the wire binding slightly within the cable. When I examined where the cable meets with the transmission, the angled arm of the speedometer gear wiggles a little. I’ve attached a video. Is this normal or should I look into replacing the speedo bushing as well? I’ve watched the YouTube video on replacing the speedometer bushing, and I’m not even sure if a new bushing would prevent this movement. TIA for any guidance.

Here's a YouTube link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EN7rN2aUSc...eature=youtu.be

Fairly normal wear. That will not cause the needle to bounce.

make sure that the cable is routed smoothly and that it is not melted under the engine
