I imagine one is early... the other style late

I KNOW I am going to regret this, but here goes. What is the difference I am supposed to be seeing. Also, as far as I know, tail and side shift use the same fork..... as the difference is in the shifter... not the clutch....

I think the Tail and side forks interchange also
and they certainly seem to be the same dimensions when held together

the pair of forks have the part number cast on back side of the pivot bushing hole...

the single fork has the part number cast on the same side of the pivot bushing hole.

one style is likely early
the other style likely late

I just don't know which style is which

There is no operating difference.
The only anomaly of that period is the '70-'71 911 which was the first 'pull' type
clutch.
