My first 914, so I don’t know what is ‘normal’.

I’ve replaced shocks on my 39k mile car. One was a bit leaky.

When I go over rough surface, like a pot hole, I get quite a bit of scuttle shake. Just a lack of front end rigidity in the structure - is my guess. Sound familiar? Normal?

To the club er world . wub.gif

How about when the car is on perfectly smooth asphalt
? Handles like a dream right ?

914s dont really soak up potholes

As a rule the smoothest cars will be verrry heavy
914 is way too light for any sort of ride compliance.

I sure a lotus " beats your ass " over rough pavement to"

And i think you may be refering to bump steer.
Not schuttle shake

I kinda disagreee with the bump steer kits and huge tierods personally

The schuttle shake is kinda a part of the car s characters .why would you wanna fix that
And its free not to fix it wub.gif

Shout out to the cheap sob

That all makes sense. On a smooth surface, it’s razor sharp and super handling.

I wouldn’t describe as bump steer. More like an MGB, body flex.

Good to know. Thanks.
