I suspect my ignition switch has given up the ghost.
When I looked at 914 Rubber, they sell a replacement switch, but is says for 75-76. Pelican does not list one for 1971.
Is it different? Does it remove the same way as the technical articles show?
Thanks

Place a WTB here in the classifieds for a used one.

I will complete the troubleshooting that is on this site first. I have started that process. Once I know it is actually the switch, I will try a WTB. I have seen them pop up before.
Thank you.

Try your nearest Porsche dealer. You’d be surprised at what they can get. It’s more expensive, but better quality than the two cheaper ones I’d bought for my ‘73, installed and broke.

If it’s the electrical part of the switch that has gone bad, you can use a switch for a 1971 VW Bug. They are the same. Pretty easy to find from a VW parts house. Unfortunately, the replacements are of mediocre quality.

I’ve replaced mine with a VW bus 1970-71 or equivalent.
They are hardwired in. $25 on eBay. I bought 2 because I don’t expect it to last forever.

Al,
Could I buy one so that we may be able to make these?
